Meet Leona, 3 years old. ❤️
A cheerful, active little girl with a strong personality. Leona loved jumping on the trampoline, watching Winnie-the-Pooh cartoons, and drawing. But most of all, she was fascinated by stories and fairy tales about dragons.
In August, her parents received devastating news: Leona was diagnosed with cancer.
The family is originally from Saint Petersburg, and Leona has spent all three years of her life in Armenia. The family currently rents an apartment in Dilijan, but they are planning to move to Yerevan to be closer to the hospital and continue her treatment.
Her mother has not been able to work for a month, as all her time is devoted to hospital visits and caring for her daughter. Her father, a freelance designer, is currently only able to work part-time. The family also has a one-year-old child, so the parents are caring for two young children while facing the expenses related to Leona’s treatment.
As the family does not yet have Armenian citizenship, Leona’s treatment is not covered and must be paid for privately.
Just look at how beautiful she is. She is so little, yet she is already facing a challenge that no child should ever have to go through.
At this stage, the chemotherapy costs 1,000,000 AMD, while the two hospitalizations cost 500,000 AMD each.
