Arusyak is 38 years old and the mother of two young children.
Just recently, her family’s life was divided into “before” and “after.” Arusyak was diagnosed with cancer. She has already undergone surgery, but she now faces a long and costly course of treatment that offers her a real chance to overcome the disease and return to her normal life.
Arusyak and her family have never asked for help before. They are a hardworking Armenian family that did everything they could to cope on their own. However, the overwhelming cost of treatment has forced them into debt, and the next essential step is a course of immunotherapy.
Once her treatment is completed, Arusyak will be able to be there for her children again—to bake birthday cakes, worry about their school grades, hug them, and kiss them goodnight. These may seem like ordinary moments, but they are what make up a happy childhood.
