Garnik is April 2016 war participant. Almost immediately upon the completion of his two-year military service in 2017, Garnik was diagnosed with acute leukemia, and was taken to the intensive care unit at the Yeolyan Hematological Center in Yerevan. Then complications appeared – hemorrhagic stroke and, as a result, left-sided paresis. The family was able to pay only for the first course of chemotherapy. VIVA raised 111,028 rubles for another 3 chemistry courses that Garnik took in Germany.
