Today in Armenia, it is Motherhood Day. We congratulate, we embrace, we give thanks…
But there are mothers whose hearts carry endless pain…
Because they gave the most precious thing they had to their homeland — their sons.

Kristine Abgaryan.
In 2022, she lost her son in Jermuk… He was defending Armenia… and he never came back.

Today, we are doing the most honest thing we can — we are saving a MOTHER’s life.
Without formal greetings, without empty words…

Because apart from us, she has no one.
The state does not cover the cost of this treatment.
Which means there is simply nowhere for her to wait for help from.

Beside her is her elderly husband, a Group III инвалид.
They do not work.

Cancer can be treated,
but treatment is extremely expensive.

And you know… today our foundation turns 10 years old.
Ten long,
very hard years.
We were not able to organize any anniversary events… there is neither strength nor mood for that.

It’s clear that in today’s world, the chances for peace are almost nonexistent, no matter where you live…
But we can resist evil — simply by remaining human… by feeling and sharing the pain of others…

Yesterday, journalists called:
“Will there be a celebration?”
The head of the foundation replied:
“There will be no celebration.”
Life is what it is — and so are the holidays.

All collected funds will go toward Kristine’s treatment.
The first course has already begun.
The fundraising goal is 4,200,000 AMD (11,200 USD, 885,000 RUB).

URGENT FUNDRAISING — 8,500,000 AMD. “God gives each of us a cross we can bear”… But sometimes you just want to say: Lord, please wait… we’re not keeping up.

Arsen’s story is told by the director of the VIVA Foundation, Tatiana Hovhannisyan. “I’ve already written that our volunteers, Roza and David, are going through a tragedy. Their 8-year-old son has been diagnosed with aplastic anemia. The cost of treatment is around $24,000… Without help, this is simply impossible for one family to carry.

    Together, we’ve already helped him.
We were searching for blood donors — and you showed up. Every single day, people are donating blood.

But I want to tell you more about this family…

For 10 years, they have been volunteers of our foundation.

Do you know what happened the day Roza and David — refugees from Artsakh — crossed Lachin?

That very same day, David stood next to us and started helping — carrying boxes, distributing aid… I kept telling him, “David, go rest, go be with your family”… but he didn’t leave. He stayed with us day and night in Goris until we helped the very last person.

After that, he spent months traveling through villages and towns, helping others…

And Roza… when they finally reached Yerevan, she didn’t stay with her own pain — she started distributing meals to those in need.

I’m writing this and crying. Deleting and writing again. They are truly good people. And they deserve for everything to be okay. Because only together we pull each other out of this endless chaos. Only ordinary people reach out a hand to one another.

Lord, it is Holy Week — PLEASE HELP US.
Help us welcome Easter with hope and joy…

    On Monday, Arsen’s treatment begins… I want to say I’ll stop asking… but I won’t 😭

We also have another urgent case — the mother of a fallen soldier from the September 2022 battles in Jermuk has cancer. Her chemotherapy starts on April 2. She needs 4.1 million AMD…”

You can help little Arsen and his family cope with the illness with any amount, in any currency, from anywhere in the world. Please don’t stay aside. You can make a donation directly on this page using the donation form below. Thank you to everyone for your support! Together we will get through this!!

    Mariam Pilafyan, 48 years old.

    She is a teacher.

    A mother of seven children.

    And she has cancer.

Mariam lives in Voskehat village, not far from Etchmiadzin. Despite her diagnosis, she continues to work at school.

She can rely only on herself:

“Who will work, if not me?”

She is divorced and raising her children on her own.

At the moment, Mariam must receive her medication every 21 days. The treatment cannot be interrupted.

It is her only chance to continue fighting the disease.

The total cost for this stage of treatment is 660,000 AMD.

Thanks to the generosity of St Raphael Armenian Association and Mr Paul-Georges Manoukian, 490,000 AMD has already been covered.

170,000 AMD still remains to be collected.

This remaining amount will allow Mariam to continue her treatment. It will give her strength to keep fighting. It will give her children their mother beside them.

🙏 We ask everyone who can help to please contribute.

    No amount is small.

    Every donation matters!

    Urgent Fundraiser — 10,000,000 AMD

Today, we are witnessing a story worthy of a film.

A girl was born with cerebral palsy.

Then came a love story. Two people met and fell in love. Two children were born.

How many mothers with cerebral palsy have you seen?

In this family, miracles seemed almost ordinary.

By the script, this is where an evil witch would appear…

But in real life, there are no witches. There is cancer.

During her third pregnancy, doctors delivered a terrifying diagnosis — blood cancer.

An urgent bone marrow transplant is now needed.

And in this story, there is one more ray of light: there is a PERFECT donor.

Anna’s own brother. He is currently serving in the army, but he will be granted leave to come, take part in the procedure, and save his sister’s life.

For 27-year-old ANNA’s fairytale to end with “and they lived happily ever after,” funds are needed.

A lot of funds. No — a VERY large amount.

The state will cover 6.5 million AMD.

Our foundation is committing 10 million AMD.

When Anna was in our office and we were speaking about her unborn baby, she broke down in tears.

We tried to give her strength, telling her that everything is still ahead.

And suddenly, through her tears, she said:

“Later, I will give birth to two for you as well…”

They do not own a home — they live in a rented apartment.

    Anna has a caring husband.

And a mother who is now looking after the children while Anna fights the most important battle of her life.

    This is not a movie.

    This is life.

And this life must have a happy ending.

    Let’s go.

Tell this story to all of Armenia.

Share it in every story you post.

This is a story about LOVE, FAITH, and UNITY.

First, there was a terrible car accident. Then — cancer. They say lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice. But not in this case.

In August, a devastating car accident happened.

A mother and three children were left with severe injuries.

And then came the second blow.

    Cancer.

Karen Gulyan is a father of five children.

An ordinary man. He worked as a driver.

    He lives for his family.

    Pigmented melanoma. Stage 3.

The surgery was performed, but to stay alive he needs expensive medication — every single day, without interruption.

Today, no one in this family is able to work.

The Gulyan family are displaced from Artsakh.

They are living in Hrazdan, in relatives’ home.

    Without their own house.

    Without any reserve of strength.

We are opening an urgent fundraiser — 3,772,000 AMD.

All funds will go toward life-saving medication for Karen.

Sometimes help is not just a donation.

It’s a chance for a father to stay with his children.

For them to remember him alive — not only in photographs.

If you can — please help.

If you can’t — please share.

Sometimes, that’s how lives are saved.

Artur Goroyan is the author and inspirer of that very special charitable account thanks to which our medical outreach program to remote regions and villages of Armenia can operate continuously. The idea of Pativ also belongs to him. Translated from Armenian, it means “honoring.”

Simply put, it is a gesture of honor and respect shown to you, which you then pass on to others. Were you given a discount? Did your best friend pay for your coffee? Send the money you saved to help those who need it today. You were shown honor — show respect in return, even to a stranger. In this way, gratitude multiplies, and the world becomes a little kinder. And this is not an abstraction: your pativ will be directed toward real, tangible actions.

Today, we met with Artur Goroyan to talk in detail about what Pativ is, how it works, and why it is so important for each and every one of us.

Artur Goroyan. Pativ is not about change for the sake of change. It is about respect for what already exists. Armenia is a warm, alive, deeply human country. That is exactly why there is a natural desire to support and strengthen its best qualities. Pativ is a way of care and participation that does not break what exists, but gently continues it.

А.G. Pativ is not about money. Money is only a tool. Pativ is an internal decision to participate with respect. It is a form of gratitude and responsibility. When you do good not out of pity, but out of dignity and equality.

А.G. Traditional charity is often driven by emotion in the moment. It is sincere and important, but not always sustainable. Pativ is about calm, regular participation. About a system that helps people become healthier, safer, and more independent, without taking away their dignity or creating dependency.

А.G. Armenia is a country with a deep culture of hospitality. Helping, welcoming, and supporting others comes naturally here, without expectation or calculation. The diaspora has been involved in the life of the country for many years. Visitors often encounter this attitude for the first time and feel a natural desire to give something back. Pativ gives the diaspora and visitors a clear and dignified way to express gratitude so that this good truly reaches those who need it and works in the long term. It is a form of respectful participation on equal terms, without pathos and without obligation.

А.G. Very simply and in a human way. Imagine a situation. You are in another country and someone shows you hospitality after learning that you have a connection to Armenia. You are Armenian, you have Armenian friends, or you simply have a warm connection to the country. It can be anything. A café does not charge you for coffee, someone helps you without expectation, someone shows kindness. Pativ offers a simple and dignified response to such kindness. You are not required to return it immediately or to the same person. You can thank Pativ. It does not matter where you are. In Armenia or in another country. By contributing to Pativ, you pass this good forward. It does not disappear, but becomes part of a system that helps people become healthier, safer, and more independent.

А.G. The most important thing is to tell others about this initiative. Pativ lives when people know about it and share it. It is important to understand this. Pativ funds are not spent directly. They are accumulated in an endowment fund, and only the returns are directed toward social and charitable initiatives. This allows the capital to be preserved and provides continuous support. By talking about Pativ, a person becomes part of a long term system of care and responsibility.

А.G. My personal principle is “do what you can do right now”. You do not need large resources or grand plans. Small, regular actions often bring results faster and more sustainably. I am close to the idea that has been expressed many times by Ruben Vardanyan. It is important for the diaspora not only to help, but to participate in joint work and development. For me, Pativ is participation, gratitude, and respect. It is the willingness to support what we love, here and now.

    URGENT FUNDRAISING — 4,500,000 AMD

Marine Petrosyan is 45 years old. She is a simple, hardworking woman from the village of Karinջ, Lori region.

In 2023, she was diagnosed with myeloma cancer, and from that moment, her family’s life was divided into “before” and “after” — as so often happens in such cases.

To save their mother, the family sold everything.

Treatment was started, and they moved to Yerevan, renting an apartment to stay close to the Hematology Center.

All their livestock — the family’s only source of income — was sold to continue the treatment and fight for Marine’s life.

Marine has two children. Her 22-year-old son stays by her side at all times, caring for her, supporting her, and accompanying her to the hospital every single day.

Today, the family is left without income and without resources, but with one strong hope — to save the person they love most.

Since January 7, Marine has been back in the hospital.

Unfortunately, to continue her treatment, a medication is required that is not covered by insurance.

With this medication, Marine has a real chance to recover…

    but the cost is overwhelming.

Any support you can offer may become life-changing for this family.

    Every donation, every share matters.

    Meet Marina!

She is one of our young volunteers. Marina is an active, talented, and kind girl. She loves dancing, practices Armenian traditional dances, sings, and plays tennis. Her love for reading is enormous — Marina has read many books, and her favorite one is “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Last year, Marina appeared in the TV series “Manyunya. Childhood”, where she played the leading role! And when she received her very first salary, she decided to donate part of it to the VIVA Foundation, because she wants to help children who are in need of support.

    URGENT FUNDRAISING — 225,000 AMD

Today, we ask you to pay attention to one person and one very important story.

Erik Gasparyan is 45 years old. He is from Artsakh and a military veteran.

He took part in the wars of 2016, 2020, and 2023 — even though he was already retired by the time of the third war. Once again, he went to defend his homeland, paying for it with his health.

Today, Erik urgently needs medical treatment. We must urgently purchase albumin. Recently, he has been going hungry — there is no job and no support.

He has no children. He lives with his wife in a rented apartment in Armavir. Only his wife works, and the cost of treatment is an overwhelming burden for this family.

He gave years of his life, his strength, and his health for us and for our country.

Now it is our turn to stand by him and offer support.

We are opening an urgent fundraising campaign for his treatment.

    Please do not remain indifferent.

Our team visited the village of Aghdzq (Ashtarak region), where we installed solar panels providing the family with hot water ☀️

Now the family can enjoy clean and renewable energy — and most importantly, have access to hot water even during cold days.

We thank our team and all our donors for their kindness, care, and willingness to change people’s lives for the better.

For us, the most precious thing is seeing smiles and knowing that together we truly can make the world a warmer and kinder place

A group of young people from the IT sphere, seeing the statistics of how many people donate blood, decided to join our flashmob and become donors.

To donate blood, all you need to do is fill out this Google form 👉 https://viva.foundation/en/blood-donation/

One blood donation saves three lives. Join us too — together we can do more! 💛

Avagyan Satenik (58 years old) lives in Artashat. Her entire life has been confined within the walls of her home: a daughter and a disabled son, whom she could not leave for even a minute. Her daughter carries her own cross — a blind son who needs round-the-clock care. Two people with disabilities in the family. Seven years ago, her husband passed away, and Satenik had to bear the full weight of caring for the family alone. She tried to help everyone, but can one person really do it all?

And now, a new blow: Satenik has been diagnosed with cancer. For the first time in many years, she needs someone to take care of her. She needs someone to reach out a helping hand. She deserves a chance at life too — not only to give hers away to others.

For treatment, around 6,500,000 drams are needed today. This is an enormous amount for a family that has been living in constant struggle. The first course of treatment is scheduled for next week. God grant her the strength to fight this illness — and we, together, will provide the medicines she needs.

There is almost no time left! Unfortunately, we have to say this from the very beginning because the countdown is in days. Natella Soghomonyan is only 34 years old. She is from Yeghegnadzor, where she lives with her husband and two children. But right now, this young woman is not at home with her family — she is in the hospital. Natella has acute leukemia.

Soon she must undergo her final course of chemotherapy, followed by a bone marrow transplant. It sounds like a set of terrifying words, and if you feel the urge to scroll past, please don’t! Natella doesn’t have many chances — and all of them depend on us.

Treatment requires money. The family is holding on with their last strength. Natella’s husband is an officer who has served the Homeland for 18 years. Their children are waiting for their mother to come home…

We have already raised more than 6,000,000 drams, thanks to your donations, reposts, involvement, and compassion! 🙏 But now we need a second wave of help and support — and faith in a miracle! Let’s help Natella recover and return home to her children.

Light wins when we ignite it together. Please, do not remain indifferent!

    Every repost is a chance!

Every dram, dollar, or euro is a step toward saving her life!

Thank you for not staying aside. There is no such thing as someone else’s tragedy.

    Attention!

In the life of the foundation, there are different moments: most often, we rejoice at the successes of our beneficiaries, helping them regain their health. But there are also stories when illness wins. Unfortunately, Natella could not be saved — the disease proved stronger. We express our condolences to the family and friends of Natella Soghomonyan and mourn together with them.

The unused funds from the fundraiser will be directed towards the treatment of another beneficiary currently waiting for help.

You can find the financial report on the expenses for treatment below.

Friends, we are facing another very difficult challenge. Sometimes it feels like we no longer know how to address you, what words to use when asking — because behind each of our appeals lies real pain and the destiny of a person.

The current fundraiser for Arevik Balayan, a teacher from Artsakh and mother of four children, has stalled… For several days now, there have been no new donations. Yet Arevik’s story is far from easy.

Two of her sons are soldiers. One of them is a Battle Cross recipient. These young men stood up for us and continue to defend our borders even today…Arevik has cancer. She has undergone extremely difficult treatment, including a bone marrow transplant. The family did everything possible: sold what they had, took loans. But stopping now would mean losing everything already achieved — and there are results!! That’s the most important thing! That’s why this fundraiser is more than necessary.

One of her officer sons came to the foundation’s office… “I told him that I can’t imagine how we can raise such an amount,” says Tatyana Oganesyan, head of the VIVA Foundation. “It’s not a small child whose treatment people are more willing to support — everyone wants to help children! Here it’s an adult woman.”

We still need to raise 5 million drams. Please, do not remain indifferent — support, tell your friends about this fundraiser, share this post. Every word, every donation is our gratitude to a mother who raised sons that have dedicated their entire lives to serving the Homeland.

Within the framework of the fundraiser for Arevik’s treatment, 8,028,000 drams were collected. They were used to cover 4 courses of chemotherapy. The unused funds (468,000 drams) will be directed towards the treatment of another beneficiary currently waiting for help.

Urgent Fundraiser — 6,208,000 AMD. Dear friends, we ask you not to remain indifferent to this tragedy. Today, our beneficiary is Lina Tonoyan, 46 years old, from Stepanakert —
a woman who was not just a witness to history, but stood on the frontlines
    in 2016, 2020, and 2023.

She has been through it all.
She defended Artsakh. She defended her Homeland.
Today, Lina is fighting for her life. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Lina underwent her first course of chemotherapy on credit.
She now lives in a rented apartment with her family. Her daughter is the only one working.
There is no way they can afford another 6 rounds of treatment on their own.

But Lina is a true fighter — she doesn’t give up, she doesn’t lose hope.
She still has 6 more courses of chemotherapy ahead. And the will to live.

We believe she will overcome this.
We believe we can raise this amount.
And Lina — who has always protected us — now needs our protection.

The illness has not only deprived her of the chance to finish school and continue her education but has also taken away the joy of pursuing her passion—drawing. Constant seizures have shattered her dreams and plans. Anush is currently in the neurology department of Arabkir Hospital. She is the third child in a family of four children, and her mother, Anna, is forced to take care of her around the clock, unable to work.

The surgery that could save Anush costs 2,460,000 drams. The state has already provided half of the amount — 1,230,000 drams, however, the remaining part is needed to complete her treatment.

Every bit of help brings Anush closer to recovery and a full life. Together, we can give her the chance to dream again and find happiness in each day. Amount needed to collect: 1,230,000 drams. Every dram, every moment of your involvement is priceless.

    Thank you for your kindness!
