Our history
“VIVA: Doctors and volunteers for Armenia” Charitable NGO was established on the 7th of April, 2016 during the another regular military aggression of Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh
VIVA provided the first real support to Artsakh (medical supplies, ambulance cars) on the 4th day of the war of 2016. It was during that tough time that the history of VIVA Foundation started.Our main mission is to provide the hospitals and clinics of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh with hospital facilities, armarium, medicaments, materials and instruments. VIVA became a non-commercial entity in June, 2017. The Foundation is registered in Armenia. Transparency and openness are express values that are vital to our work.
Medical Programs
Aim – to enhance the quality and accessibility of medical care provided to population
- Modernization of hospitals/clinics/feldshers stations (paramedical and midwifery station) technical facilities
- Free consultations and surgeries
- Fundraising for treatment of pediatric patients and adults from socially vulnerable groups
- Long-Term projects for children: prenatal screening in marzes, supporting to Cystic Fibrosis Center, screening of endocrine diseases
Training Courses
Programs are targeted at enhancing the skills and knowledge of physicians and nurses from Armenia and Artsakh, for which we are implementing the following:
- Trainings/Internships of Armenian physicians in other countries
- Seminars and lectures
- Master-classes
- On a routine basis we supply the Republican Scientific-Medical Library in Yerevan with contemporary medical literature
Social programs
20% of Foundation’s work is aimed at social projects, targeted at socially vulnerable groups, refugees
We organize charity events, like Christmas Fair, VIVA-Khash, etc. Twice a year we organize clothing donation drives for socially vulnerable groups. Besides this, it means:
- Projects, supporting self-employment: "Skotni Dvor", "Blagochay", "Malinnik"
- New-Year Events: Christmas Fair, Letter to Santa Claus, Christmas Basket
- During the war of 2020 much help was provided to refugees.
