Mariam Pilafyan

Mariam Pilafyan, 48 years old.

She is a teacher.

A mother of seven children.

And she has cancer.

Mariam lives in Voskehat village, not far from Etchmiadzin. Despite her diagnosis, she continues to work at school.

She can rely only on herself:

“Who will work, if not me?”

She is divorced and raising her children on her own.

At the moment, Mariam must receive her medication every 21 days. The treatment cannot be interrupted.

It is her only chance to continue fighting the disease.

The total cost for this stage of treatment is 660,000 AMD.

Thanks to the generosity of St Raphael Armenian Association and Mr Paul-Georges Manoukian, 490,000 AMD has already been covered.

170,000 AMD still remains to be collected.

This remaining amount will allow Mariam to continue her treatment. It will give her strength to keep fighting. It will give her children their mother beside them.
