First Aid Courses
Training for Schoolchildren
The First Aid Courses for Armenian teenagers is a specialized educational initiative by the VIVA Foundation aimed at equipping students with basic first aid skills. The program’s mission is to teach children how to respond appropriately in emergency situations, helping to save lives before professionals arrive.

Program Goals
- Train 2,000 students annually
- Collaborate with over 50 schools across Armenia every year
- Develop confidence and skills to enable them to act effectively in challenging situations
- Foster a sense of responsibility and mutual support among youth
Why It's Important
Children often find themselves in situations where their quick response and basic knowledge can save lives. However, the level of first aid preparedness in schools remains inadequate. Learning first aid not only builds practical skills but also instills in children the importance of caring for the health and well-being of others.
The program targets older students, tailoring materials and exercises to their level of understanding.
Program Implementation
Courses are conducted by professional instructors using interactive teaching methods. The program includes: theoretical training (introducing the basics of first aid, such as stopping bleeding, responding to injuries, and assisting in cases of cardiac arrest); practical sessions (under instructor supervision, students practice performing CPR, applying bandages, and using improvised tools in emergencies); scenario-based exercises (participants simulate real-life situations to better absorb the material and build confidence in their actions).

Social Impact
The program enhances safety in schools and the community by teaching the younger generation practical skills. It instills in children an appreciation for the value of life, responsibility, and mutual assistance.
Program Benefits: сhildren learn to stay calm in emergency situations. A culture of safety is fostered in schools and beyond. First aid skills provide a foundation for further learning and personal development.
